A Time of Need by ~arkantos287:iconarkantos287:

~prologue: A Time of Need~
The crowds cheered as a beautiful, older fashioned style yacht made its way down the small river in the middle of the town. Thousands upon thousands of people pushed and shoved to get a view of the great ceremony that was about to take place. They stared in adoration at the young woman who stood on this yacht. She stood, smiling and waving at the crowds, for this was her time. This young lady was none other than the princess Starlit, the new queen in the land of Twilight. She was surrounded by four priests who came to watch over her in this crucial time, the time to give thanks to the god Armadyl, the ruler of the skies.
The boat continued to slowly drift forward to a small shrine built in the direct centre of Twilight. On this shrine was a large statue of Armadyl, sword in his left hand, and the world in his right. In front of the statue was an elderly man, dressed in white robes with purple streaks going down from his arms to his feet. This was the ceremonial outfit for the high sage of Armadyl, passed down from sage to sage, said to come from Armadyl himself.  Starlits yacht eventually reached the shrine, and its passengers started to get off. Two priests led the way, Starlit behind them, and the other two priests behind her. They approached the sage, and Starlit bowed, and took a tight grip of her beautiful diamond necklace.
“Today, we give thanks my people for all that we have.” Starlit began, in a light voice. “The riches of our country, our many allies and the beauty that surrounds us. Great Armadyl, ruler of us all, continue to bless us with these many gifts, and watch over us for the years to come!”
As she finished, the sage raised his hand in the air and thrust it down, bringing with it a bolt of lightning from the clear night sky. As it hit the ground of the shrine, the statue began to glow as did Starlits necklace. The crowd cheered and Starlit smiled, it seems that she did this right, and Armadyl favored her!
The cheering, the happiness though was about to end, for not all the people in the world cared to have Armadyls favor. No quicker than the crowds cheers came did they turn to screams as out of the sky came missiles, aimed at the buildings of Twilight. The priests moved around the princess, and the great sage readied himself to fight these unseen foes. He raised his hand to call forth another lightning bolt, but when he thrust his hand down, nothing came. The smoke filled sky was blocked by a large craft that quickly came over the small shrine. The craft opened right above it, and a platform came down that held ten armed guards surrounding one man.
“This is a pleasure to meet you, Princess of Twilight. Allow me to introduce myself, I am Sir Hazeel, Zaros’s most trusted sage.  I have come for the sole purpose of obtaining the staff of Armadyl from the great sage and the diamonds of Azzandra, the keys to opening the sealed power within!” Starlit gasped and held her necklace tight, for the diamonds he wanted were in this necklace! “Now princess, if you’d be so kind as to follow me, I shall take these diamonds and then the staff… And as for you my servants, please get the staff from the sage so that we can make this quick!”
The guards surrounded the priest, and Hazeel took Starlit by the arm. As the guards raised their guns toward the sage, a strange drop in temperature was felt. The guards, thinking it was a spell from the sage, began to fire at the old man. Just as the bullets were about to reach him, ice surrounded him and shielded him from the bullets. In amazement, looked around him, and noticed a new figure, that stood atop the statue of Armadyl…
“Who is that…?” he asked in confusion.
